See You at the Rainbow Bridge, Cody

On my first day at LockNet, I had no idea there were any dogs at the office when I arrived.

When I interviewed, not one of the four pups who ran around the office were there so I didn’t get a glimpse. When I sat down at my desk on my first day and a big, brown ball of fluff came bounding over to me, I was pleasantly surprised.

I sat next to Cody for the first two years I worked here and every day I managed to sneak him a treat or two, maybe get a trick out of him, but my favorite was when he would come over for his belly rubs.

He would lean his big furry body against me and it was his way of being like, “Hey, lady, get on with the rubs. I don’t have all day.”

And if I didn’t do it enough, he’d lean harder. He was nothing, if not persistent.

Cody was one of the most loved dogs I’ve ever been around. Katie and Zach, his owners, treated him like a king, and really, that’s what he was.

He was definitely one of the kings of LockNet.

Cody passed on earlier this week and a hole has been left in his absence. He was only in the office three days a week, but it didn’t matter.

Everyone knew when Cody was here and now that he’s gone a little piece of LockNet has gone with him.

Even though we all know he’s probably frolicking in a field of Fazoli’s breadsticks (his favorite) and running through completely wide open fields, it’s so hard not to miss him here with us.

So, for now, we’ll take comfort in knowing that he’s waiting for us all at The Rainbow Bridge.

If we’re being honest with ourselves, he’s probably not doing any waiting. He’s running around, free as a bird, and will come to meet us when we get there. Why would he waste any valuable play time just sitting?

That would be silly.

So, we’ll see you later, Codeman.

We loved you so very much.
