Dear Santa: I Need a Restricted Key System This Year

Jonathan_G_Meath_portrays_Santa_ClausDear Santa,

I know you’re super busy this time of year and, technically, this letter might be a little late. Let’s be honest, I’ve never been early to anything in my life. It’s part of my charm.

I’m writing this letter on behalf of LockNet. First, we want peace on earth. Secondly, we want all calories removed from ice cream (but the taste has to remain the same). Finally, we have a few extra requests. Don’t worry. They’re pretty simple things like multipoint locking systems, restricted key systems and a particular type of lever sets.

Security Wish List

Multipoint Locking System

A multipoint locking system probably isn’t on the top of most people’s Christmas lists, but when you’re in the door and lock industry it’s the “official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle” of the security world. (Minus the whole shooting your eye out thing.)

If you have a multipoint locking system on all of your exterior doors, any burglar is going to have a very hard time getting through a multipoint locking system. There are a variety to choose from. Our favorite is the Sur-Lock. It locks on the hinge side and the strike side of the door. With more than one bolt to keep the door secure, it makes the door harder to break open which is an excellent deterrent for burglars.

Restricted Key System

Santa, I know a restricted key system sounds a little boring, but let me explain. It’s actually pretty cool. A restricted key system gives you a higher level of security because people are restricted in making copies of keys. Key and core orders have to be placed through authorized dealers and that way, if an employee quits or is terminated and they return their keys, there’s no need to rekey the store.

Don’t worry though. We know if we get a restricted key system we typically can’t get a same-day rekey, but that’s ok. It’s a sacrifice we’re willing to make.

Master Key System

While we’re on the topic of key systems, we might as well throw in that we would love to get a master key system along with our restricted key system, too. Those bad boys are really great for facilities that have a lot of employees.

A master key system works like any regular system, but allows you to have different levels of access to each lock. That way you can give a manager access to certain doors and employees access to others. It’s a great way to keep things separated if you have confidential information kept in certain rooms.

Studio Lever Sets

Now, we can’t go all  function and no style. I need a little style in my life. These levers by Sargent are a great way to add a little spice to your facility and not lose the sleek professional design you want.

There’s a quite a few options, Santa, so don’t put any pressure on yourself to choose the perfect one. I’ll just take them all.

So, that about does it for my list. If you think I’ve forgotten anything, you just let me know. Merry Christmas!
