Retailers lost $34.5 billion due to shoplifting and Organized Retail Crime according to the most recent National Retail Security Survey by the National Retail Federation. This is undoubtedly a serious problem that affects millions of retail operations and end customers. We would never make light of such a widespread issue; but there are always head-shaking cases of shoplifting when you just can’t control the laughter.
